This flexible option allows you to install mobile rails & mobile-ready racking to which mobile bases can be retrofitted when required at operating temperatures. Let’s look at a case study of one of our existing clients as an example: CASE STUDY A well-known meat wholesaler required additional space within their existing freezer facility. The 1700m² space had a capacity of approximately 1920 pallets on selective fixed racking. The objective of the project was to increase the pallet positions with a mobile racking solution. A new floor was installed together with 4 Barpro mobiles increasing the capacity to about 2555 pallets. 1: Supply and installation of rails and support stools on a new floor at the existing premises In this instance, the racks were installed on a new floor. Overlay floors on top of existing floors can also be considered. 2: Supply and installation of 4 mobile bases with wooden bumper protection & individual control system In 2023 the customer purchased 2 additional mobile bases to be installed on the existing rails at operating temperatures. This increased total capacity to approximately 2877 pallets. The potential pallet capacity of the store with 12 mobiles is 3983 pallets. Drum Storage

Barpro mobiles can store almost anything. From cantilever racking to store cars to drums that store fruit. Normal unit loads consist of cases packed on wooden pallets. Mobile racking can store drum pallets, which are normally 1200 by 1200mms. The normal storage method is to block stack the drum pallets four or five in the height. This makes great use of the storage volume especially in fruit concentrate freezer stores. But if the drum pallets are stored any higher the bottom drum pallet can collapse under the weight. The problem comes when individual drum pallets need to be retrieved for dispatch. It is almost impossible to find and extract the correct pallet quickly. If stored on Barpro mobiles, each pallet of drums is immediately accessible. Stock can be correctly rotated and controlled by batch code, drum temperatures are maintained during dispatch and there is far less damage. Store capacities can be increased by doing up to 7 levels of pallet in the height as no pallet rests directly on another. As some local cold stores have already found, storing drums especially of frozen concentrate on Barpro mobiles can be a very cost-effective solution. CASE STUDY: KALAHARI CUTS – MEAT PROCESSOR

Barpro Storage was approached by J-P Knipe regarding a Holding Freezer for his business, Kalahari Cuts, located in Mooiplaats in Pretoria East. Project description Barpro Storage in collaboration with Universal Storage Systems (racking installers) provided a Rails and Mobile Ready Racking System which enabled 368 pallet positions with a storage capacity of 441.6 Ton. Rails The project was executed in 2 parts by the laying of the rails. With the installation of rails Barpro ensure that there is high density polyurethane under the rails. Precool, a manufacturer of insulated panels and cold rooms provided insulation on the floor. Once the rails were in and the floor had been poured, post pour floor levels were taken to ensure that the floor is level with the rail. Polyurethane is a plastic material, which exists in various forms. It can be tailored to be either rigid or flexible and is the material of choice for a broad range of end-user applications such as: insulation of refrigerators and freezers.– www. polyurethanes.org Mobile Ready Racking System Barpro and Universal proposed the Mobile & Static Racking system to Kalahari Cuts to allow for future expansion within the facility as the need arises. With this solution Kalahari Cuts can double their storage capacity with the installation of mobile bases using the existing racking structure. This is a single storage solution for Kalahari Cuts as the need for storage capacity increases. Barpro technicians wear Delf freezer protective wear that allows them to install the bases at operational temperatures. This product is designed to minimise the risk of & provide protection against extreme cold and any risk related activity. Barpro is a proud supplier of the Delf Freezer wear range. Additional protection has also been provided for the racking system such as: Talk to us and let us provide you with the best solution for your storage facility.
