No end to the Rumours of Rain

No end to the Rumours of Rain – Our 2016 June newsletter contained an article entitled Rumours of Rain.

While we are unbelievably thankful that good rains have now fallen on the Highveld, the same is certainly not true of the Western Cape where reservoirs are now well under 40% full with little rain expected until April or May. The first of February brought even tighter water restrictions and the price of water itself has increased significantly. As long term climate forecasts predict, as far as this is possible, that climate change is likely to make South Africa a drier place, rain water harvesting will become more and more attractive.

Cold stores have big roofs. Why not use them productively to catch rainwater which can be used at least for cleaning and irrigation?
