On 10th April, Peter Morrison of PM Systems revealed a new LED cold store light fitting. Rated at 180watts this 8kg fitting gives off a warm white light (3500K) at temperatures as low as minus 40 Celsius. Start up is instant and, at a height of 10metres, it has a lux of 57 in a diameter of 12 metres. Although Peter was coy on price, the fitting will be tested in one of his client’s Cape Town cold stores. Barpro is now offering a Service Level Agreement

Just to let everyone know. Barpro has finally been able to put together a Service Level Agreement for maintaining STORAX mobiles. It offers telephone assistance as well as maintenance checks on a regular basis with feedback within 3 days of each visit. We are also negotiating with STORAX to increase the normal warranty from one year to five years. Although this is not yet standard on every project, please talk to us about it if you are interested. The Service Level Agreements are being offered in the Gauteng area immediately with the Western Cape, Natal and the Eastern Cape following as soon as possible. Our idea is to create the same sort of service culture around mobiles as already exists with cars. There are differences, of course, but the importance of preventative maintenance is the same.  If anyone has suggestions please get in touch.  Ideally what we would like to see is the STORAX handbook being kept as close to the mobiles as possible with every Barpro visit recorded as well as what repairs were carried out.  Anyone who is interested in considering an SLA please get in touch with Mike Vermeulen or James Cunningham on 021 552 9190 or contact us by email: barpro@iafrica.com.

Proof that a bottle of James’s favourite did in fact reach John Meiring is attached. Incidentally, the Newbalance guy sitting on his left is Mervin Beck. Mervin is Barpro’s dedicated Joburg technician and he is eager to assist clients with call outs, inspections and repairs on Storax mobiles. Mervin can be contacted on 076 488 4092 or on mervin@barpro.co.za and has already proved useful to a number of Joburg clients. We did however have a bit of an “oops” last week when he had no motors in stock, but James took one to Joburg with the whiskey and stock levels are now being reconsidered.
