Sticks & Licks Storax Mobile Racking – Sticks and Licks, Ballito, KZN installed Storax rails but only fixed selective racking in their new freezer store during the 2014/2015 construction. By 2016 additional capacity was required so an order was placed on Barpro Storage in September for installation by end of November 2016. The six mobile bases had to be installed in the cold while the store was in operation, at the busiest time of year. This increased the store’s pallet capacity by over 50%. The six Storax bases were made in Cape Town, the additional racking sourced from Shelving KZN and the base installation took just more than a week.   Given the time of year, there were inevitable challenges, but the Storax bases were up and running well before Christmas and additional operator training is due for January 2017. The Barpro team consisting of Gavin Coetzee (Santa) and Danie Coetzee (Rudolf) are gaining hard won experience in this specialised work including some useful ways to speed up such installations.   Pictured: Santa and Rudolf deliver a mobile Christmas gift to Dhaya Govender of Sticks and Licks.
