SAPICS hosted their 38th Annual Conference and Exhibition at Sun City from 12 – 15 June, and this year Barpro SA decided to participate with attendance by Corne Stapelberg from our Johannesburg branch, and Alan Moule from Cape Town. Feedback is that it was really an impressive experience and they can only compliment the organisers for the professionalism with which they hosted this event.
Delegates attending the conference had the time to learn from others in the same profession. Questions and answers get thrown backwards and forwards to gain the best insight about this massive industry. They also had the chance to interact with some of the best professional people who are really experts in their fields. In between presentations and workshops there was time to enjoy coffee and snacks, browse the exhibition, and perhaps most importantly, network. People sharing knowledge and experience face to face, with new relationships being born every minute. Those present were able to learn from each other and share their thoughts and ideas, whether it was around a table socializing, or within a formal seminar.
The conference makes us aware of what is going on in the great world of supply chain logistics. With all the negativity around us, we can really catch a breath of hope that South Africa is heading in the right direction with technology in logistics and warehouse systems. We can all be proud to be a part of a supply chain industry which is clearly focused on the latest global trends and strategies.
