The GCCA (Global Cold Chain Alliance) recently appointed Lizelle van der Berg to lead their efforts in South Africa. As Director, Lizelle will be representing the GCCA in its worldwide efforts to strengthen and develop the global temperature-controlled supply chain.
GCCA consists of three Core Partner trade associations, which provide relationships, resources, and recognition to members.
- International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW)is the temperature-controlled warehouse industry’s association.
- International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA)is the temperature-controlled transportation and logistics industry’s association.
- Controlled Environment Building Association (CEBA)is the association for experts in the design and construction of temperature-controlled facilities.
Plus, the Global Cold Chain Alliance and its Core Partners are supported by the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO), a nonprofit foundation. WFLO develops education and research for the industry and provides cold chain advisory services that empower economic development and strengthen the global cold chain.
Lizelle will act as a key contact for expanding the role of the GCCA amongst South African cold stores. Her previous experience includes customer development and client services for logistics companies.
“I am busy with market research connecting with both members and potential members in the industry to discuss market requirements, challenges, trends etc. In addition, offering GCCA’s wide range of resources, we will be conducting training and education for everyone in the cold chain industry as well as regular networking events.”
Anyone that would like to make contact can email me at Lvanderberg@gcca.org or contact me on 072 225 9820.
Together we can grow and improve the cold chain industry in South Africa.”
