Mobile Racking
Storax Mobile Racking is a high density storage system that makes use of conventional racking. The racking superstructure is fitted onto electrically powered bases with wheels. The bases run on rails that are embedded into the concrete floor. The layout of the system is designed to suit the specific needs of the customer. Users choose STORAX Mobile Racking because it combines high density storage with ease of access to the stored loads. Below is an illustration of a warehouse that is laid out with standard pallet racks, and a warehouse that is laid out with STORAX Mobile Racking. The warehouse laid out with mobile racks can store up to 80% more pallet loads. The construction cost per useable pallet position of the warehouse plus storage system is significantly lower than for most other types of racking. Furthermore, if the environment inside the warehouse is temperature controlled, there is a major cost saving because of the much smaller volume inside the mobile racked store.
Every pallet position in mobile racking is directly accessible to the operator, making the jobs of stock control and stock movement very quick and easy. Each mobile base unit can carry up to 360t of product weight. The maximum storage height is only limited by the reach of the fork truck. This means that with Storax Mobile Racking the volume of the warehouse is used efficiently. Storax Mobile Racking has built-in safety features including trip bars which, when activated, cut the power to the motors and bring the mobile rack to a controlled halt in a short distance. Rack stop buttons are always fitted onto the front of the mobile racks. Electrical circuits are protected with circuit breakers. It is possible to control the lighting above the aisles, so that only the open aisle is illuminated. When this is used there is a 70% saving on daily electricity usage for the lighting.
